DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Northwood's Patrick Barrington has been named The Sun Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Barrington becomes the first Seahawk to win the award in 2014.

In a pitcher's duel in Daytona Beach, Barrington bested the efforts of Stetson Nelson to help the Seahawks win their first game at Sliwa Stadium since 2005. Against the third-ranked Eagles, Barrington hurled a complete game gem, surrendering a lone run in the first inning before retiring 22 of the final 26 batters he faced. Patrick scattered six hits with seven strikeouts across nine frames to earn his fifth victory of the year. For the season, Barrington is 5-1 with 2.81 ERA in six starts with 19 strikeouts.
