DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - St. Thomas' Emilio Ogando becomes the first Bobcat to win Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week honors in 2014. Ogando was selected by the league's sports information directors.
Ogando (6-1, 2.01 ERA) was masterful in an 8-0 series-clinching win over 13th ranked Embry-Riddle. He pitched nine shutout innings allowing just two hits and walking none in the complete-game victory. Ogando struck out eight batters to improve his season total to 88, tops in the conference. Against Embry-Riddle, he retired the last 18 batters he faced with 1-2-3 innings from the fourth through the ninth.
