DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Olivia Lynch becomes the first women's soccer player to earn Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the 2014 season. Lynch was chosen by the league's sports information directors.
Lynch played all 180 minutes in goal for the sixth-ranked Eagles in their two-game road trip to Arizona. The Eagles came from behind to upset fifth-ranked Concordia (Calif.), 4-3 thanks to four saves from Lynch. The Naples, Fla. native followed that game with a seven-save performance against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) in which the Blue and Gold won 3-1.
