DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Southeastern kicker/punter Caleb Winter has been chosen as The Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
Winter, in his first season playing football, averaged 47 yards per punt on his three kicks during Saturday's 51-27 win over Edward Waters. Winter also recorded the longest punt in school and Sun Conference history with a 74-yard bomb in the fourth quarter that backed the Tigers up to their own 5-yard line with 6:18 to play in the game with the Fire protecting a 17-point lead. Winter also hit a school and conference record 48-yard field goal in the second quarter to give SEU a 13-7 lead.
