DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Warner quarterback Darrin Davis, Jr. has been named the Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12. Davis is the first repeat winner of the season; he won the first Offensive Player of the Week this year.
Davis had his best performance of the year in a 48-45 victory over NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday. Davis and the Royals won the game on a 50-yard Hail Mary as time expired that Jayvon Young caught in the end zone. Davis finished the game with 451 yards of total offense, the most by a player in The Sun Conference this season. Davis was 13-of-21 through the air with three touchdown passes of 68, 57 and 50 yards. On the ground, Davis was the Royals' leading rusher with 13 carries for 163 yards and one touchdown, a 59-yard scamper in the 4th quarter. Individually, Davis set three new school records with his performance (rushing yards, passing yards & touchdown passes). As a team, the Royals tied or broke 17 school records with the win.
