DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Dannisha Pierce of St. Thomas has been named The Sun Conference women's basketball Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Pierce was selected by the league's sports information directors.
Pierce scored a career-high 29 points and matched a career high with 12 field goals made while pulling down 18 rebounds as the Bobcats tied the school record for most points scored in a game with 116. Pierce shot an efficient 12-of-16 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line. She also recorded five assists and two steals. It marked the 26th time in her career that Pierce had recorded a double-double which is a school record. Pierce, who is the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, now has 1,307 career points and 740 career rebounds.
