BLUFFTON, S.C. — Johnson & Wales sophomore Ricardo Suarez is this week's Sun Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball. Suarez is the first Wildcat player to earn the award since Craig Wong in February 2012.
Suarez, a 6-4 forward from Miami, Fla., was a dominant force in three conference games this week. He averaged 22.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 78.4 percent from the field. After collecting 22 points and seven rebounds in a win over Warner, Suarez notched consecutive double-doubles against Embry-Riddle (25 points, 12 rebounds) and Webber International (20 points, 10 rebounds).
