DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Zac Grotz of Embry-Riddle is this week's Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week. Grotz was chosen by the league's sports information directors.
Senior Grotz had an impressive week for the Eagles as the Blue and Gold went 5-1 on the week. Grotz pitched a complete game shutout against Mount Vernon Nazarene, allowing just three hits with six strikeouts against the 21st-ranked team in the country. Against USCB, Grotz came into a 3-2 game in the 8th and earned his sixth save of the year, getting all four outs via a strikeout. He also pitched a hitless ninth in Saturday's first game against the Sand Sharks.
