DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the first time in 2015, Southeastern has a Player of the Week in the sport of baseball as Willi Martin earns the honor. Martin was selected out of a pool of nominees by the conference's sports information directors.
Martin hit safely in all five games this week, leading the Fire to a 5-0 week. The senior totaled four home runs in five games, and drove in 12 runs. His fourth homer of the week broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth on Saturday against Trinity Baptist, leading to a 10-5 victory. He compiled a 1.381 slugging percentage on the week with nine of his 12 hits going for extra bases. He also drew three walks and was hit by a pitch once, driving his on base percentage up for .640 for the week.
