DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - For the fifth time in his career, Embry-Riddle's Stetson Nelson has been named The Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week. Nelson is the final winner of the 2015 baseball weekly award.
Nelson went 1-1 this past week, getting stuck with the loss against No. 6 Tampa on Tuesday, despite allowing just two runs over the last four innings of the game. Nelson then went seven strong innings on Sunday against Ave Maria, helping the Eagles secure the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament. Nelson struck out a career-high 12 batters on Sunday, allowing one unearned run in a 7-1 victory.
