Southeastern’s Alex Mack is this week’s Sun Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week.
The 6-2, 175-pound senior defensive lineman from Daytona Beach, Fla., picked off a pass in the second quarter with his team trailing Warner 9-3 and returned it to the Warner 23-yard line. This set up a three-play touchdown drive and sparked a run of 42 unanswered points to give the Fire a 45-9 win over the Royals. Mack finished the day with six total tackles and was part of a defense that had four total takeaways.
