DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- Xavier Blain-Cruz helped lead Savannah College Art & Design to a perfect 2-0 week with victories against Edward Waters (Fla.) 87-78 and Morris (S.C.) 65-55 to earn Florida Sun Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending November 27th, conference officials announced today.
Blain-Cruz averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds per game off the bench as the Bees won twice last week. Against Edward Waters, he was a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor, including 5-of-5 from three-point range. Included in the career-high 24 points against Edward Waters, was the 11 consecutive points he scored as part of a decisive 16-2 run at the end of the first half. Prior to Edward Waters, Blain-Cruz had only scored 20 points in the Bees' first six games. He also was the only scorer to score in double figures against Morris.
SCAD is 4-4 on the year.
