DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- Warner Southern's Lenise Jones helped the Royals to a 2-0 mark on the week defeating Edward Waters and Flagler to earn Florida Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending January 22nd, conference officials announced today.
Jones helped WSC extend its winning streak to three games defeating Edward Waters 66-57 and then downed conference-foe Flagler 72-64 to improve to 2-1 in the league and 9-12 overall. Jones posted 26 points and six rebounds for against the Saints and recorded a double-double against Edward Waters with 13 points and 10 boards.
For the week, Jones averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 2.5 steals, shot 48 percent from the floor (15-for-31) and hit four three-point buckets (4-for-10, 40 percent).
