DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sophomore Ryan Pope earned the second Florida Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week honor of his career the league office announced on Tuesday.
The Brandenton, Fla. native surrendered two runs (one earned) on five hits in six innings on the mound to lead the Bees to a 9-2 win against Montreat (N.C.). Pope, who improved to 2-1 with the win, struck out five batters to move into second place on the team in strikeouts (12) and has a 1.98 ERA on the season.
