After recording a pair of 66's, Thompson put up 68 strokes in the third round. He finished with 200 strokes in the invitational. 200 lands second in the Mariner record book for the lowest 54-hole score in Coastal Georgia history. He was only bested by Mark David Johnson who scored a 199 in the Coastal Georgia Fall Home Invitational in 2018. Thompson led the event by 10 strokes and was 16 under par. His 16 under-par performance also lands him second in the Mariner record book. He secures his position just behind Johnson again who recorded a 17 under par in the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. Thompson is the second Mariner to win the Battle at Primm. He joins former teammate Eli Scott who won the tournament in 2019. This victory marks Thompson's third collegiate win, making him one of only six Mariners to ever achieve this accolade.
This is Thompson first TSC weekly award of the season and the first of his career.
