DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second time this season, Flagler senior Chris Guerra received Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The Fremont, Calif. native led the Saints to a 4-1 record last week, including a 2-1 conference series win against Savannah College of Art and Design. He batted .500 (6-for-12) on the week, posted a .667 slugging percentage, had five walks and was four-for-six in stolen bases.

In three games against Flagler, Guerra was 6-for-10 with a pair of doubles and four runs. His leadoff single in the top of the seventh inning of game one of Saturday’s doubleheader sparked a five-run explosion, leading to an 11-4 Saints win, and he followed with a four-for-four performance to lead Flagler to a 6-1 victory in the nightcap.
