Grassi continues to lead the conference in digs/set averaging 5.43 and this week was no different. St. Thomas had a clean 3-0 sweep defeating then undefeated FMU and capping off the first round of SUN play with a sweep of SEU. Grassi was the anchor of the defense and took on the challenge from the Lions top-spin serves and heavy hitters. The freshmen stepped up to the challenge and recorded 6.33 digs/set in the SUN Match of the Week that help lead to the three-set sweep. Please note Grassi was not a starter and only played a handful of serves in the end of the Florida College match. St. Thomas is now on a four-game win streak and sits atop the conference after the first round of play. The Bobcats went 24-3 in set victories through the first round.
This Grassi’s fifth SUN weekly award of the season and the fifth of her career.
