DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Right hander Jimmy Metz gained recognition as the Florida Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week after notching his first win of in the year last Tuesday.
A senior from Crystal River, Fla., Metz tossed a complete nine-inning game against Southeastern (Fla.) and struck out 14 batters in the process. He scattered five hits, walked two and surrendered just on earned run as the Royals defeated the Fire 14-1
