Fertig had a career week helping the Seahawks improve to 15-7 (6-4 SUN). The native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, scored a career-high 29 points on Thursday as KU defeated Coastal Georgia, 66-63. The senior guard drained five 3-pointers while grabbing four boards and registering three steals. She added 17 points on Saturday as Keiser cruised past Thomas, 87-54. She also had four rebounds and four steals versus the Night Hawks. Her play helped the Seahawks improve to 11-3 at home this year. On the year, Fertig is averaging 9.5 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per contest.
This is Fertig’s first SUN weekly award of the season and the first of her career.
