Phillips had a historic performance this Saturday at the Tiger Invitational. The Thomasville, Ga boasted two first place finishes against several NCAA D3 opponents. Phillips also became the first person in program history to qualify for the NAIA Indoor nationals by hitting the B standard in the 60-meter hurdles. Not only did he qualify for nationals but he also broke his own personal record and school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of (8.23). He also broke the school record in the 200-meter run with a time of (22.99).
This is Phillips first SUN indoor weekly award of the season and first of his career.
