DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle junior Josh Doane was named the Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 5-1 record last week, including four wins against ranked opponents. Doane finished the week batting .391 (9-for-23) with a .739 slugging percentage, and totaled eight runs score, three doubles, a triple, a home run and three stolen bases.
Doane’s best performance of the week came in the Eagles' 16-4 defeat of No. 7 Bellevue. The Indianapolis, Ind. native was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle and capped off his four-for-four, four RBI performance with a grand slam. In addition to being walked once, Doane was two-for-two on the base paths and scored four runs in that contest.
In the first game of a doubleheader against No. 15 St. Xavier, Doane extended his hitting streak to 11 games, going two-for-three with a double and an RBI.
