Bouchard extended his hitting streak to 18 games this week, posting eight hits in a four-game span, batting .421 with two home runs and 11 RBI. The native of Ashburnham, Massachusetts, registered four extra-base hits for a slugging percentage of .842. He opened the week going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in an 8-1 win over No. 17 St. Thomas in non-conference action on Tuesday. He posted a seven-RBI day versus the Gyrenes on Saturday as Keiser swept the doubleheader to take the conference series. He began the day with four RBI on 3-for-4 hitting from the dish. In the second game of the double-dip, the KU third baseman drove in three while batting 2-for-5. On the week, he scored eight runs (tied for the team high). On the year, Bouchard is leading the nation in RBI with 36 and is No. 2 in the nation in home runs with eight. He is batting .468 with 16 XBH and a season slugging percentage of .896.
This is Bouchard’s second SUN weekly award of the season and the fourth of his career.
