Coleman had a strong showing as she opened her season this past Saturday at the Orange and Blue Invitational hosted by Savannah State University. Coleman was able to clinch a total of four first place finishes with several personal and school records broken against NCAA DII opponent Savannah State University as she led the way for the women's team. The Thomasville, Ga native competed in the Javelin Throw notching a first-place finish breaking her own school and personal record by six foot with a throw of (28.81 meters). She additionally competed in the Discus throw taking first place in the event with a throw of (35.62 meters). On top of that she competed in the Hammer Throw and once again breaking her own school and personal record by 14ft with a throw of (34.02). Jennifer then concluded her day in the Shot Put by securing another first-place finish by smashing her own school and personal record with a throw of (10.72 meters). She currently holds every school record for throws squad. Coleman has also qualified for this year's SUN Conference Outdoor Championship in each throwing event.
This is Coleman’s first SUN outdoor weekly award of the season and second of his career.
