DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle’s Brian Letko was named the Florida Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week after helping the Eagles improve to 13-5 in the league, conference officials announced on Tuesday. Letko started in two of the Eagles’ four contests last week and logged a combined eight innings of shutout ball.

Against NCAA II foe Rollins, the junior left-hander allowed just one base hit in two innings on the hill.

In the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Warner Southern, Letko held the seventh-ranked Royals to just five baserunners on four hits and a walk, and fanned six batters to earn his second complete game shutout of the year. The Eagles won that contest 10-0 to take over the top spot in the FSC.

Letko leads the conference in wins with a 12-1 overall record and has a 2.16 earned run average.
