DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Flagler College sophomore Kenny Barfeldt earned Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week honors after leading the Saints to a 4-0 record last week. The first baseman batted .692 (9-for-13), had at least one hit in each of the four games and scored three runs scored with three doubles and nine RBI as the Saints closed out their season at 31-22 overall. He was a perfect 7-for-7 with runners in scoring position and six of his nine RBI came in two-out situations.
After collecting a hit and an RBI against Edward Waters, Bargfeldt strung together three multiple-hit games in a conference series against Northwood. The Fishers, Ind. native went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Friday’s game, which the Saints won 8-4. He was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI in the first game of Saturday’s twin bill, and posted another three-hit, three-RBI performance in game two as the Saints won 7-0 and 8-1, respectively.
