Defensive back Wendol Philord was a big factor in the Seahawk's 40-14 win over the Southeastern Fire on Saturday. The native of Miramar, Florida, registered a season-high-tying seven tackles, including three for loss. Philord flew around the field making a number of huge stops including a tackle for loss of quarterback Kaylan Wiggings on third-and-short at the beginning of he second half. He also recovered a key fumble early in the fourth, leading to the Seahawks third rushing touchdown of the game, extending the KU lead to 26-14. Philord was also vital in the return game, giving Keiser good field position, averaging 40.5 yards per kick return versus SEU. On the year, Philord has record 35 total tackles (22 solo) with 6.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions and six pass breakups.
