Jaelin Willis had a monster day versus the Ave Maria Gyrenes, leading the Seahawks to a 27-21 win on Saturday. The native of Fort Pierce, Florida, registered a career-high 14 tackles (six solo) to lead the team. It was the sixth time this season the sophomore linebacker led the Seahawks in tackles this season. His 14 tackles were the second-most recorded by a Seahawk in program history and marked the third time he reached double-figures in tackles this season. He also recorded his first interception of the season and forced two fumbles, including a forced fumble with 1:00 left in the game which sealed the victory for KU, improving the Seahawks to 5-0 in Sun Conference action and 6-0 in NAIA action. On the year, Willis has recorded 70 total tackles (No. 37 in the nation and No. 1 in the conference) with 5.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
