DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Nick Maloy became the third Savannah College of Art and Design player to earn Florida Sun Conference men's basketball Player of the Week honors this season, conference officials announced today.
Maloy made the most of his first two starts of the season (and only third in his career) this week. Against Shorter, Maloy scored a career-high 17 points and a career-high 8 rebounds to help the Bees snap a two-game losing streak. He followed that up with a career-high 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting (including a college-record tying six 3-pointers) as SCAD rallied from four down at the half to defeat Pikeville, a team SCAD lost 94-89 in double overtime earlier this season.
