PORT ORANGE, Fla.—Savannah College of Art & Design senior goalie Laura Hansen was named Florida Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 9th, conference officials announced today.

The Greensboro, N.C., native was instrumental in a 3-0 week for the No. 14 Bees.  After not being tested in a 4-1 win over Brenau, Hansen made six saves against against John Brown University (Ark.), and followed it up with an eight save shutout against No. 5 Martin Methodist (Tenn.), as the Bees knocked off MMU 1-0.

Hansen also earned NAIA Region XIV Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Dena Rozalsky, Embry-Riddle (5-0 * Jr. * D from Melbourne, Fla. - Helped Eagles hold NCAA DII Flagler to one goal in 2-1 overtime win.  She had impact on each Flagler offensive attack that came her way. Rozalsky was in the game for the 96+ minutes and made her presence known by challenging Flagler's forwards, getting a foot in the way of Flager shots, and communicating well with her teammates.)

Tiffany Vega, St. Thomas (5-6 * Sr. * D from Newport Richey Fla. - helped Bobcats limit opponents to one goal en route to a 2-0 week and improved to 4-1 overall, allowed one goal in 3-1 victory against NCAA DII Flagler and helped shutout Webber International)
