PORT ORANGE, Fla.--Warner Southern freshman defender Kristin Mossing was named Florida Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 14th, conference officials announced today.
In her only game last week, Mossing's served as a central defender/sweeper and was instrumental in preserving a 1-0 shutout victory against defending NCCAA national champion Southeastern College handing the Fire their first lost of the season.
Mossing helped hold Southeastern to just a handful of non-threatening shots throughout the game. Her superb defensive play limited their shots, attacks, and ability to get anything going offensively. With two different goalkeepers behind her, she was the foundation in securing the shutout.
