PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Savannah College of Art and Design's Katie Stover averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds helping the Bees pick up their first two victories of the season to earn the first Florida Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors of the 2007-08 season, conference officials announced today.

She scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards one assist, two blocks and a steal in a 78-51 win against Agnes Scott and then followed up with a 14-point, nine-board performance against Columbia College (S.C.) in the Bees' 81-58 victory.  She converted 62.0 percent of her attempts from the floor going 13-for-21 and was 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.

Other Nominees:
Ronke Allen, Warner Southern (5-6 * Jr. * G from Miami, Fla. - averaged 16.0 points. 5.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals on the week as the Royals posted a 1-2 mark.  She scored 23 points, with six boards and eight assists in WSC's 66-65 home victory against St. Petersburg College and recorded 19 points against NCAA DII Valdosta State which appeared in the NCAA tournament in 2006-07)
