PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- St. Thomas University freshman guard Carissa Staiano recorded 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field (4-of-6 from beyond the arc) and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line in the Bobcats 77-68 loss to Puerto Rico-Mayaguez to earn Florida Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced today.
Staiano added two rebounds, three assists and three steals in the first STU defeat of the year.
