PORT ORANGE, Fla.--Savannah College of Art & Design junior forward Kaona McGowan averaged 14.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.3 steals to earn Florida Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced today.
McGowan helped the Bees to a four-game winning streak before losing to FMU, and had a career-high 20 points in loss to Florida Memorial. She recorded her first double double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds in double-overtime FSC road victory over St. Thomas (Fla.).

Francesca Dernocelle, St. Thomas (6-2 * Jr. * F West Palm Beach, Fla. - averaged 11.7 points, including a 23 point, nine rebound effort against Savannah College of Art & Design.)
Ashley Butler, Webber International (5-11 * So. * G from Tampa, Fla. - Butler helped the Warriors to a 2-0 week. The Warriors opened up their conference schedule with a victory over Northwood by one point. The win was certainly made possible with Butler's contribution.)
