DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Antonio Jones had an impressive two-game stretch for the St. Thomas men's basketball team last week. The sophomore guard averaged 37 points, 3.5 reounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 steals en route to being named the Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6.
Jones took full advantage of playing on his home court on Thursday when the Bobcats hosted Olivet Nazarene. He played 45 minutes in the overtime contest and exploded for a game-high 46 points on 14 of 26 shooting. He had four three-pointers, was 14-18 from the free throw line and had four assists and three steals.
Two days later, Jones scored 28 points on the road against NCAA II opponent Valdosta State. He shot 33 percent (4-12) from beyond the arc and converted on all eight of his free throw opportunities.
