DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Halston Schaffer earned Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week honors after leading the Webber International men's basketball team last week, averaging 18 points, 11.5 rebounds and two blocks per game.
On Wednesday, the Ocala, Fla. sophomore tallied a team-high 15 points and pulled down nine boards in a loss to Savannah College of Art and Design in their conference opener. Schaffer was 7-for-12 from the field with three steals and accounted for almost 25 percent of the Warriors' points.
Schaffer registered his second double-double of the season on Saturday to lead the Warriors to a 76-74, double overtime win against St. Thomas. He was 7-11 from the floor and 7-8 from the free throw to finish with 21 points. He also pulled down 14 boards and closed out the contest with four blocks and an assist.
