DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sophomore Taylor Wencis led the Northwood women's basketball team to three wins last week to earn Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week honors. The Allen, Texas native averaged 13.7 points and four assists to help the Seahawks improved to 15-3 on the year. She did most of her damage from the charity stripe, going 22-24 on the week, including a 10-10 performance against Edward Waters.
After recording eight points two rebounds, four assists and two steals against College of the Bahamas, Wencis led the Seahawk offense with 17 points in their conference match-up against EWC. She dished out three assists in the game and hit two free throws with six seconds left to send the game into overtime where she hit two layups to help NU to a 63-59 win.
Wencis closed out the week with a 16-point, five assist performance against Savannah College of Art and Design. She was perfect on her only three-point attempt, went 9-10 from the free throw line, and had five steals.
