DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle junior forward Tyler DeBord was selected as the Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 29, the league office announced on Tuesday. DeBord, ERAU's leading scorer and rebounder at 17.8 ppg and 9.0 rpg, averaged 17.5 points and 12.5 rebounds leading the Eagles to a pair of conference victories and their 20th win this year.
On Wednesday, Debord scored 15 points and pulled down 11 boards to lead the Eagles to a 95-76 win over Webber International. He shot 50 percent from the field and was 5-of-6 from the free throw line. He also handed out four assists and had two blocks and two steals in that game.
Three days later, DeBord tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Eagles past No. 19 Warner Southern, 77-62.
His 20-point performance made him the 14th-ranked member of Embry-Riddle's 1,000-point club and his two double-doubles put him atop the league in that category with eight.
