DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Northwood senior, Marvin Owens, averaged 25 points in two games last week to earn Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week honors for the week ending Feb. 10, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Against Florida Memorial, Owens scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line. He also grabbed six rebounds, handed out three assists and had a pair of steals as the Seahawks topped the Lions 86-81.
Three days later, he tallied 27 points, shooting 12-of-18 from the field. He was 1-for-1 from beyond the arc, pulled down seven boards and hit the game-winning basket to lift Northwood to a 60-58 upset of No. 13 Warner Southern.
