DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Junior first baseman, Juan Santana of St. Thomas, was named the Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week after his efforts from the plate in the past week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Santana was 12-for-21 from the plate, hitting .571 and slugging .810. Of his 12 hits, three were extra base hits. He had a hit in four of his five at bats against Wisconsin-Parkside, one of which he had a home run. He marked four RBI's in the game, and seven on the week.  Santana also stole three bases in four attempts.

Other nominees include: Mike Schaetzle, Northwood; Colin Gray, Embry-Riddle; Patrick Braswell, SCAD; and Jed Yancy, Warner Southern.
