DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Senior left-handed pitcher, Jordan Roberts was named the Florida Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week after marking a career-high 12 strikeouts against Thomas on Saturday. This was announced Tuesday by the Conference office.
Roberts had a split week, where he had 19 strikeouts and earned only one run. In his seven-inning win against Thomas, Roberts struck out a career high 12 batters, averaging 1.71 strikeouts per inning. He struck-out the side in three separate innings, all while allowing only three hits and walking two. It was his third shut-out of the year, his fourth complete game and his fifth win.
This season Roberts has a 5-2 record with a 1.44 ERA. He has 66 strikeouts and is holding his opponents to an average of .229.
