DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle junior Carlos Bes Comeras was named the men's tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 23 by the Florida Sun Conference on Wednesday. Bes Comeras racked up three wins in singles action and was 2-1 in doubles play.

The Zaragoza, Spain native started out the week with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 singles spot in the Eagles' 9-0 shutout of No. 21 Oklahoma Baptist on Monday. He also teamed with Tomoaki Yasuda to record an 8-2 win at the No. 3 doubles position in that match.

The next day the duo suffered a tough 9-8 loss to the doubles team of Nahan Serekeberhan and Florida Perche from fifth ranked NCAA II foe Drury. In singles play, Bes Comeras dropped the first set 6-1, but rebounded to take the next two sets 6-3, 6-1.

In his final outing of the week, Bes Comeras won out at both doubles and singles as the Eagles defeated No. 25 Oklahoma Christian 9-0. He and Yasuda defeated Esteban Flores and Adalid Martinez 8-2 in doubles, and in his first singles match of the year at the No. 1 position, the 16th-ranked Bes Comeras upset No. 8 Flores 6-2, 6-1.
