DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Senior left-handed pitcher, Chris Maloney of Embry-Riddle was named the Florida Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week after his 6-0 shut out of Warner Southern on Saturday. This was announced Tuesday by the Conference office.
It was his first shut out of the 2008 season and first complete game of the year. He faced only 27 batters in nine innings, where the four Royals that reached base were either caught stealing, picked off or were called out in a double play. In the game, Maloney had four strikeouts and gave up only three hits and one walk.
On the season Maloney has a record of 6-2 with a 2.51 ERA.
