DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sun Conference Office announced Northwood’s Lina Karlsson as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21.
A defender from Vaggyrd, Sweden, Karlsson contributed to the Seahawks offense as Northwood went 2-0 on the week. She scored the third goal in a 3-1 win over Palm Beach Atlantic and the sixth goal in a 6-0 shutout of conference opponent Warner Southern. Both goals were on headers.
On the defensive end, Karlsson helped Northwood to their fourth shutout on the year. The only goal allowed on the week was scored by Palm Beach Atlantic from the penalty spot.
