DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Embry-Riddle goalkeper Dina Roper was selected as The Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 5, the league office announced on Monday.

Roper started in both games for the Eagles last week, helping the Blue and Gold to 1-1 record on the week. On Friday, Roper recorded a season-high 13 saves against No. 17 Savannah College of Art and Design and held the Bees scoreless through the first half of play.

Two days later, the freshman drew the start for the Eagles against St. Thomas and held the Bobcats scoreless in her 45 minutes between the pipes.
