DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Junior left-handed pitcher, Justin Zinkovich of Embry-Riddle was named the Pitcher of the Week by the Conference office, announced Monday, Feb. 23, 2009.
Zinkovich pitched seven complete innings en route to his third victory of the season in a 3-1 win over the SCAD Bees. The hurler struck out seven batters while giving up just two hits and one run, which was unearned.
On the season, Zinkovich has a 2.28 ERA in 23.2 innings pitched. He has 24 strikeouts and is holding his opponents to a .143 batting average. This is his second Pitcher of the Week nod this season, the first honor was on Feb. 9.
Other nominees include: Brian Henshaw, Northwood; John Durham, Warner; Jimmy Marshall, Webber-International; Eddie Anderson, SCAD; and Jared Campbell, South Carolina-Beaufort.
