DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle freshman Charlie Rice was selected as The Sun Conference men’s tennis Player of the Week by the league office on Monday. Rice helped the Eagles to a 6-3 win over NCAA II No. 10 Rollins in their only game of the week.
Rice teamed up with fellow-freshman Adrian Bayh for an 8-5 win over the Rollins duo of Nick Rowlands and Gustavo Caravahlo at the No. 2 doubles position to help Embry-Riddle to a 2-1 advantage heading into doubles play. Rice then registered the fifth and decisive win for the Eagles, topping Rockwood 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot.
