DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference announced Monday that Dan Fantini of Warner was named the Conference Pitcher of the Week, for the week beginning March 2.
Fantini pitched 10.2 innings in two games this past week for the Royals. He tallied 15 strikeouts, five of which came against every batter he faced against St. Leo. He charted the win over South Carolina-Beaufort in a complete nine inning game. He allowed only one run off four hits to USCB.
On the season, Fantini has a 1-1 record with a 5.03 ERA in 19.2 innings pitched. He also has 23 strikeouts on the year.
Other nominees include: Justin Zinkovich, Embry-Riddle; Brian Henshaw, Northwood; and Jared Campbell, South Carolina-Beaufort.
