DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle freshman Peter Francis was selected as The Sun Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Apr. 5.
Francis won both of his singles and doubles matches on the week. On Monday, helped the Embry-Riddle men win the conference regular season title with a shutout of Warner’s Leandro Palaceus in singles. On Saturday, he downed Alex Voirin of NCAA II No. 3 Lynn in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 6-0) to clinch the Eagles' 5-4 upset of the Fighting Knights. Francis teamed up with Istvan Bolgar for both doubles wins on the week, downing Warner’s Palaceus and Josh Schutts 8-1 and Lynn’s Luca Pavanelli and Alessandro Sarra 8-5.
