DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Antonio Jones earned St Thomas first men’s basketball conference Player of the Week honor of 2009-10 after leading the Bobcats to a 1-1 record during the week ending Jan. 3. Jones averaged 29.5 points, six rebounds, five assists and 3.5 steals during the two-game stretch, shooting .416 from the field, .316 from beyond the arc and .704 from the charity stripe.
The junior guard tallied 33 points in 37 minutes in a 92-74 loss to St. Francis (Ind.). He also had three rebounds, two assists and five steals in that contest, which saw him connect on 11 of 29 field goal attempts and 8 of 12 free throws. Against Xavier (La.), he scored 26 points and finished a rebound and two assists shy of a triple-double, recording nine rebounds and eight assists on the night.
