DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –- Johnson & Wales senior Stephen Nosworthy was selected as The Sun Conference Player of the Week on Jan. 11 after leading the Wildcats (4-9 2-0) to a pair of wins in conference play during the week ending Jan. 10. The 6-9 center finished the week averaging 18.5 points and eight rebounds, and shot 68 percent from the field and 75 percent from the the charity stripe.
In the Wildcats first game of the week, Nosworthy scored 22 points to go with 10 rebounds in Johnson & Wales’ 63-58 upset of 16th-ranked Warner. He was 10-of-16 from the field and made good on both of his trips to the free throw line. He also helped the Wildcats to a 57-56 edge over Florida Memorial, tallying 15 points, six boards and two blocks on 7-of-9 shooting.
